Growing on Purpose

Everybody says they want to grow. Almost nobody wants the conditions growth requires. We want the harvest without the soil work, the fruit without the waiting, the platform without the pruning.
So I started teaching growth the way a farmer would explain it, because nothing that grows skips a step.
Why we are here
To define what growth actually looks like in our lives. To tell the truth about the seasons that transformed us. To walk through five steps that are both spiritual and practical. And to name the things quietly hindering us, so we can move.
Step 1. Choose a healthy seed. Start with vision and intention that is rooted in purpose, not pressure. Jeremiah 29:11. “Don’t plant anything in your life that you’re not willing to water.”
Step 2. Prepare the soil. Your environment must be fertile before your potential can flourish. Matthew 13:8. “Environment is everything. You can’t grow roses in concrete.” Tupac Shakur
Step 3. Plant at the proper depth and spacing. Plant your vision with patience and strategy, not urgency and chaos. Ecclesiastes 3:1. “Don’t rush the process; trust the timing.”
Step 4. Water and fertilize. Consistency and nourishment are non-negotiables for development. Galatians 6:9. “What you feed will grow. What you starve will die.”
Step 5. Provide adequate light. Expose your growth to what brings clarity, inspiration, and truth. Psalm 119:105. “You can’t grow in the dark. Light reveals what’s ready.” Thunder
What holds us back
Three things, usually. Environment, when we are planted somewhere that cannot sustain what we are trying to become. Capacity, when the vision has outgrown the systems and the support around it. And a lack of pruning, when we refuse to cut anything, so everything grows a little and nothing grows well.
Growth is not an accident and it is not a personality trait. It is a set of conditions you choose on purpose, over and over, in seasons where nobody is clapping.
